We had the pleasure of welcoming Google Expeditions into school on Tuesday 17th January. Students were taken on a virtual reality journey through the Borneo rainforest learning about its inhabitants and the plants and trees that call it their home. Textbooks, pens and paper were put aside and using the Google Cardboard Viewer, they were ‘transported’ and got a real-life feel for different surroundings and a close-up of some deadly creatures. Using an iPad, it gave teachers the ability to direct students to look at certain things whilst using the viewer. With ever-changing technology, it emphasised what is yet to come and proved to not only be fun but also a creative learning resource.
