For this year’s Ski trip, Lutterworth High School took 47 students to Zell am See in Austria for an epic week of skiing. We left after school on Friday 10th February. Students had been eagerly anticipating the trip after weeks of ‘trip chatter’. After travelling through the night and into the following afternoon, all concerned were happy to arrive safely in the Austrian Alps for a hot meal and ski fit ensuring all were ready for action the following morning. Our accommodation, Club Kitzsteinhorn was at a fantastic hotel/hostel offering an abundance of in house activities including indoor football, basketball, beach volleyball, trampolining, cinema, bowling, climbing Pizza restaurant and indoor BBQ.
We skied five hours for each of the six days on a range of different runs in the Zell – Kaprun area. Although many runs were challenging in terms of steepness, all students made really good progress and developed their skills, aided by cloudless skies until our last day! #makingmemories. In addition to the many in-house activities on offer we spent an evening in Kaprun witnessing the impressive balloon Alp 2017 festival – comprising many inflated hot air balloons, synchronised ski demonstrations and big air jumps.
“What a great opportunity, experience and fun trip to be involved in. We were never short of things to do. Highlights were being away with friends, making new ones, learning a new skill and all the fun evening activities” Jo Adams and Erin Bell
We will be launching next year’s ski trip in the coming weeks. Anyone interested or needing more information should see Mr Nelson, Mr James or Mr Maynard.
