World Book Day 2017

Yet again, Lutterworth High School staff and students showed us their imagination, flair and creativity by dressing up to celebrate ‘World Book Day’ on Thursday 2nd March. We had a fantastic selection with students dressing up as characters as diverse as Willy Wonka, the ‘Boy in a Dress’, the Horcrux’s from Harry Potter and Fantastic Mr Fox. Staff were equally as creative, coming dressed as Cruella De Vil, Mr Twit, Gangsta Granny and Bilbo Baggins, to name a few.

Special congratulations go to the winners from each year group, seen below with Mr Kirby, who judged the competition and to Mrs Clarke, the winner of the staff best dressed costume, as voted for by our Student Librarians, who came as Mary Poppins, spoonful of sugar and all.

As well as dressing up, we have been running book themed murder mystery quizzes and a book swap this week. Additionally, students have all been given a ‘World Book Day’ voucher. All they need to do is take it to a local book store and swap it for one of ten exclusive, new and completely free ‘World Book Day’ books.
Thanks to all who took part and made such a fantastic effort.
